An idyllic mountain peak, that erupted hundreds of years ago, has led to the formation of a sulphuric crater taking the shape of a ship. This is where it gets its name - Gunung Tangkuban Perahu or Mount Upturned Ship. Entering the mountainous area, you'll begin to smell the sulfur from the cauldron. Coming closer to the cauldron, you'll be treated to the stunning view of the cauldron with its natural gases. Here, you can also buy unique handicrafts and souvenirs made by local residents. It takes you around one hour to reach the location by bus or car from The Papandayan.
